How Do I Register
In order to fully utilize the facilities of this forum, you will need to register as a member.

To register, you will need to specify a username and password, and a valid email address. Your user name MUST BE THE FOLLOWING :
firstinitialLastname
As an example, if your name is Sue Briggs, then your user name would be sBriggs

Please check out the demo on how to register.

Entering your email address will not leave you open to 'spam', as you can choose to hide your email address (it is hidden by default), and messages sent to you via email do not reveal your address to the sender in any case. (To verify this, you can try sending an email message to another user.)

Make sure that the email address you provide is valid and working, as Dr. Brahnam will be sending out occasional newsletters.

Here is a summary of what registration allows you to do:

  • Post new threads
  • Reply to other peoples' threads
  • Edit your posts
  • Receive email notification of replies to posts and threads you specify
  • Send private messages to other members
  • Enter events in the forum calendar
  • Set up a 'buddy-list' to quickly see which of your friends are currently online

Why do I have to login and log out?
If you are only accessing the message board at home, then you do not need to log out. But you will need cookies enabled.

If you are using the message board in a lab or public place, logging out is essential. Others could access your account, change your password, or write messages that do not represent you. As you are responsible for all messages written in your name, you must make sure you logout when using public computing facilities.

How Do I Get Started Using This Web?
Studentwebstuff.com has a state-of-the-art message board. This message board will be similar to many others you will encounter on the web. It’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with all the message board and user control panel (user cp) features.

To assist you, I have created a number of flash tutorials that demonstrate various features of Studentwebstuff.com. The flash tutorials are available in the demos page.

To practice posting messages, be sure to use the Testing 1 2 3 Forum.

If you have a problem with the website, post your question in Questions, Problems, Comments Forum.
